The Lorain County Maintenance Department is responsible for the upkeep of all properties owned by the Lorain County Commissioners. Maintaining these properties sometimes involves construction, electrical, HVAC (Heating / Cooling), upkeep of all grounds, repairs, snow removal and keeping up with over 20 county owned properties.
The Help Desk
 The Maintenance Department works to support County Departments through an online tool called the Help Desk. This "Help Desk" is a central location for all Lorain County Employees to contact someone for help dealing with issues concerning Maintenance, Information Technology & Telecommunications.
An employee can call any one of these offices, or Place a Work Order, stating what specific services they need. The problem or issue is then disbursed to the proper crew member. All of these departments work together using the Help Desk to complete work orders in a timely manner. There are more than 45 departments that currently use the Help Desk.
As of January 2009, issues dealing with Office Services are no longer handled by the Help Desk. For assistance, please call Office Services at (440) 329-5115, email jdemich@loraincounty.us, or turn in an official Job Slip to the Office Services Department.
