2018 Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP) Grant - Notice of Amendment - Public Comment Period
Lorain County intends to amend its program year 2018 Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP) with the Ohio Development Services Agency. Specifically, the County proposes to amend the program by including the Emergency Housing Assistance (EHA) activity to provide citizens up to three months of rent or mortgage assistance if they have suffered economic hardship from the COVID-19.
The County is currently funded for $554,600 for the private rehabilitation activity (from CDBG & HOME funds), $264,000 for the Home Repair Activity (from CDBG & OHTF funds) and $28,000 for the Rental Repair Activity (from CDBG & OHTF funds). Lorain County would fund the Emergency Housing Assistance (EHA) activity using up to $65,000 of funds re-directed from the Home Repair, Private Rehabilitation and Rental Repair budget.
The County will open a 10 day public comment period starting April 17, 2020 until April 27, 2020 to provide citizens with an opportunity to express their views and opinions on the County’s proposed CHIP amendment prior to its submission to the Ohio Development Services Agency.
