- All dogs will be adopted "as is," with all faults" to the first person interested in the dog on or after the dog's available date.
- There will be no holding or "dibs" of any kind for anyone except an owner coming to redeem their own dog.
- In the event that more than one person is here for the same dog, there will be a lottery.
- Once a dog is adopted, they will go to the vet for a mandatory spay or neuter, and the new owner will pick their dog up from the vet a few days later (details at time of adoption).
- Meet and Greets (with dogs, kids, cats) are highly recommended before the adoption date. Potential adopters can come in anytime prior to the adoption date to do a meet and greet.
- People hoping to adopt may start gathering in the parking lot at 9:50 am for the lottery.
- Doors open at 10:00 am and anyone here for the same dog will be given a ticket.
- Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid ID with them, and must be able to pay the full $104.00 for the adoption at the time of the drawing.
- Payment is cash or check only, we cannot accept cards. If paying with a check, please have two checks; one for $24.00 to the Lorain County Auditor for the license, and a second for $80.00 to the Lorain County Treasurer for the sale, totaling $104.00.
- Winner of the lottery must be adopting the dog for themselves and therefore do all the paperwork in their own name.
