Tom Kelley
Tom has been with the Lorain County Emergency Management Agency since October of 1990, when he was hired to fill the newly created position of Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. The position was responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Lorain County All Hazards and Hazardous Materials Emergency response plans. He was appointed Director for the Agency in August of 1995, overseeing a full time staff of four people.
Before that time, Tom was employed in the Communications Division at the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department for 10 years.
Tom has been an EMT in the State of Ohio for 25 years, and has served as a part time firefighter for Elyria Township, Sheffield Village, and Sheffield Township during that time. He is a member of the Elyria Summer Theatre Board of Directors and serves as their Treasurer.
Tom graduated from Elyria High School and attended Lorain Community College. He has received the “Professional Development Certification” from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in 1998. Tom currently sits on numerous associations, boards, and committees that relate to the emergency response and planning fields in Lorain County and the State of Ohio.
Tom resides in Sheffield Village, and has two grown daughters; Samantha and Angela.
