Director of Emergency 9-1-1
Robin Jones

Robin JonesRobin Jones attended Lorain County Community College majoring in Nursing. She has been employed with the Lorain County 9-1-1 Agency since the conception in September of 1989. Beginning her career as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher, she was promoted to the position of Communications Supervisor in 1998. Then with the absence of a Director, Robin was appointed as interim Director and in 2000 was permanently appointed Director.

Robin's responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of the Communications Center, budget preparation, maintaining up-to-date equipment to ensure high quality 9-1-1 service, staying current on 9-1-1 and emergency service issues, and public speaking. She has been instrumental in ensuring that Lorain County's 9-1-1 system progresses into the future by keeping current on wireless legislature and implementation and GIS mapping.

Robin is a member of various 9-1-1 and Public Safety groups including: the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and the Association of Public Safety Communication Officials (APCO). She actively participates in reviewing legislature for 9-1-1 in the state of Ohio by attending state meetings. Robin, a native of Elyria, still resides here and has two daughters Jenine and Kristen.
