Dial-A-Ride Service Options
from the Lorain County Transit

For additional transportation options from private agencies, please see our list of Transit Alternatives.

Hours of Operation: 6 am - 6 pm (Monday-Friday)

Dial-A-Ride is a curb-to-curb service available for only for LCT customers living and/or traveling to points within the Paratransit Boundary (an area ¾ of a mile on either side of an existing fixed route bus line), in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). For current Dial-A-Ride rates, please see our list of Fare Information.

Ride Scheduling

Ride scheduling priority is given to ADA-certified disabled customers and customers needing Dial-A-Ride service for urgent medical purposes (e.g. hemodialysis, medical appointments). Personal Care Attendants (PCA) ride at no charge. The scheduler or dispatcher must be advised that a PCA will be riding with the passenger.

Service Availability

LCT's Dial-A-Ride services are available all weekdays on an advance call-in, seat available basis. Trips may be scheduled up to two weeks in advance subject to availability. To arrange a trip call the Scheduling Department at 1-800-406-7541 or (440) 365-0224.

A passenger is a "no show" when the vehicle arrives within the pick up time window and the passenger does not board the vehicle or declines the trip. It is the passengers' obligation to cancel a reserved ride before 4:30 pm the day before the scheduled pick up. Any cancellation received after this time will be counted as a late cancellation.

ADA Regulations

ADA regulations require wheelchairs or other mobility devices be secured during transport. LCT requires wheelchair passengers to be secured with a LCT installed seatbelt.

ADA regulations also require that a person who cannot enter a vehicle using the stairs and who does not use a wheelchair must be allowed to enter the vehicle using the lift, if equipped with grab bars. Driver will ride the lift with the passenger to help steady them, if requested to do so.
