Assistant County Administrator
Ron Twining
Ronald F. Twining has a five-year degree in Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University. His work experience includes three years with the Lorain County Regional Planning Commission, three years with Lorain County Metropolitan Park District, eleven years with the City of Oberlin as the Oberlin Community Development Director, interim Oberlin City Manager, nine years as the Director of the Lorain County Community Development Department and most recently appointed in 2007 as the Assistant County Administrator.
Ron’s entire professional career has been in Lorain County in Public Administration specifically in the fields of Economic Development; Parks and Recreation; and Planning and Zoning.
Ron’s former and current responsibilities and achievements have included planning reports; subdivision reviews; development of ordinances, resolution, policies and procedures; grant writing and administration, budget preparation and execution, operation of a six (6) year Capital Improvement Plan with annual reviews, staff management; and administration of numerous economic development programs. Ron is the current Director of the Lorain County Port Authority, a financial arm in economic Development.
Ron grew up in and still remains in rural Huntington Township in the southern end of Lorain County. He has been married to his wife Cindy for thirty-seven (37) years and has three children: Nick, Kemery and Laura.
