Mr. Cordes is the Chief Executive Official of Lorain County. He coordinates and oversees the activities of several departments under the control of the commissioners, including:

As Lorain County's Administrator, Mr. Cordes advises and updates the Board concerning policies, procedures and significant matters affecting the County that requires Board attention. Mr. Cordes keeps the Board fully advised on financial conditions of the County, and reviews program outcomes for efficiency, effectiveness and desired results. He also acts as a liaison to other governmental boards, agencies and community groups.
Prior to becoming the Lorain County Administrator, Mr. Cordes was the Human Resources Director for Lorain County and Lake County Board of MRDD. He is a 16 year veteran of the United States Navy and has a Master of Public Administration from Troy State University. His other degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Resource Management and an Associate in Management.
