Sharon Sweda is a native of Lorain. Her family moved to Amherst when she was in the fourth grade and she continues to reside in Amherst with her husband, Richard.
Sharon spent many years building a multi-office real estate firm with branch offices throughout Western Cuyahoga, Lorain and Erie Counties. She has held many state and county industry leadership positions while managing and building her firm through acquisitions and mergers. She has trained hundreds of newly licensed agents and dedicated years to helping those in financial crises through the housing and banking collapses in the 1980’s and early 2000’s. Sharon has been recognized for her work on behalf of the state and county. She facilitated scores of voluntary short-sale negotiations and assisted in mortgage modifications to help residents throughout Northern Ohio.
Sweda’s goal as Commissioner is to build solid working relationships with strategic partners that will continue to move Lorain County forward. Her aim is to advance job investment and creation, transportation, and addiction and mental health recovery, while identifying issues to make residents' lives better in our cities, villages, and townships. Sweda intends to serve in a transparent and energetic capacity on behalf of the residents of Lorain County.
