The following grants are available through the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District.
DISTRICT MARKET DEVELOPMENT GRANT
The whole point of recycling solid waste is to provide raw materials for the manufacture of new goods. This program is designed to indirectly increase the collection of those raw materials by stimulating the demand for them. By subsidizing the purchase of materials and finished goods containing recycled material, these grants will automatically raise the demand for such material, through the basic free market mechanism of supply and demand.
This grant program is a voluntary offering by the Lorain County Board of Commissioners and the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District. As such, the decision to continue offering the program in any given year is entirely at the discretion of the Board of Commissioners. For more information, please download the 2020 Guidelines and Applicationdocument for the District Market Development Grant.
