Why
The answer to this is simple - any warm-blooded animal (including humans) can contract rabies. It is almost always fatal. Rabies immunization helps to prevent contraction of the disease. Rabies is normally transferred through a bite. This can only occur when animals are together, so it is safer to keep your dog confined. Animal bites must be reported to your Board of Health.
